The California drought continued to have an affect on the 2013 Zinfandel, by driving flavors from deep in the vine root system. Very little rain in this growing period, yet this wine still expresses itself showing increased Zinfandel typicity in aromatic notes of black cherry, blackberry and white pepper. The color is a saturated red-brick, highlighting the three years in French Oak barrels and subsequent oxidation that has created the "brick red" color.

The palate is rewarded with the intense flavors mirroring the aromatics, and the lengthy aging has created a delightful long finish with rich full tannins and balanced acidity.
